I’m Mark Mirfin. I have 30 years’ experience building, shipping, and leading software delivery. I have provided solutions for SMEs and large enterprises alike, from the NHS to charities and commercial businesses.

My experience comes from hands-on delivery and practitioner-level engineering. I know coding, release strategies, delivery metrics, and incident tracking and resolution because I have done the work, not just directed it. Having started two businesses from scratch, I have also handled sales, marketing, recruitment - while maximising ROI. I don’t just understand the software development lifecycle—I understand the commercial realities of running a business, from code to cash.

I founded Lilywood Consulting to help businesses turn technical uncertainty into practical progress. I work directly with you and your team, bringing experience of both engineering and running a business. We agree the outcome at the start, whether that is a working delivery dashboard, requirements you can commission against, or clear ownership of technical and product decisions.
